A sample itinerary
Here is a sample itenerary of a day at Doggy Day Academy.
7.30 am – 9.00 am | Welcome & Settling In
Dogs arrive and are warmly greeted by our canine tutors. A body and health check is completed on each dog before they join their friends. Dogs then enjoy gentle free play indoors or outside, exploring play equipment and toys, or simply greeting pals under staff supervision.
9.00 am – 10.30 am | Wag & Learn Circuit – Session 1
The day begins with our first rotation of the Wag & Learn Circuit. Small groups move through different stations designed to engage mind and body, such as:
- Scent Shed – themed monthly scent activities
- Trick & Training Zone – fun skills like recall, settle, or door manners
- Parkour & Play – climbing, balancing, and safe confidence-building obstacles
- Enrichment Activities – puzzle feeders, ball pit, sand or water play
10.30 am – Noon | Adventure & Exploration
Dogs continue their circuit, with plenty of variety to match their energy levels. Activities may include community walks (short or adventure, depending on their package), scatter feeding in the yard or group enrichment games. Calm choices are always encouraged and rewarded.
12.00 pm – 1.00 pm | Lunch & Quiet Time
Dogs who bring lunch are fed individually by a tutor. Others enjoy a gentle chew or lickimat if pre-booked. Once tummies are full, all dogs have a comfort break before moving into the rest zone.
1.00 pm – 2.30 pm | Rest & Relaxation
This is our “recharge” period. Dogs can nap on sofas, comfy beds, or choose a cosy corner. Calm music plays, and tutors offer snuggles, story time, or gentle massage to those who prefer human company. Rest is encouraged but never forced.
2.30 pm – 4.00 pm | Wag & Learn Circuit – Session 2
Refreshed and ready, dogs head back into their circuit. Activities rotate daily, ensuring variety and choice. Dogs may enjoy scentwork, free work, agility-style play, or mini training sessions – always tailored to their age, ability, and personality.
4.00 pm – 5.00 pm | Calm Play & One-to-One Time
The pace slows as the day winds down. Dogs enjoy lighter play, social interactions, or gentle solo enrichment. This is also a chance for individual 1:1 focus with a tutor if needed.
5.00 pm – 5.30 pm | Home Time & Goodnight Checks
Before heading home, each dog receives an afternoon body and health check. Dogs are reunited with their families calm, happy, and ready for a good night’s rest after a full and enriching day.
